Will I be reimbursed for dental expenses?
The basic insurance reimburses many different dental treatments. A distinction is made between oral care for insured persons up to 18 years of age and for insured persons over 18 years of age. Furthermore, certain dental treatments are available to all insured persons. Your age does not matter then.
Oral care for insured persons up to age 18
Basic insurance covers a comprehensive package of treatments. For example: periodic check-ups, tartar removal, fillings and surgical dental care. Consult your insurance policy for a complete overview.
Oral care for insured persons 18 and older
Basic insurance covers the cost of surgical dental care, x-ray examinations and removable dentures. For people over 18, periodic checkups are not included in the basic package.
Oral care for all insured persons
Basic insurance reimburses special dental care if there is a serious (developmental) disorder or abnormality of the mouth. Orthodontics and implants fall under special dental care.
Supplemental dental insurance
Would you like to be reimbursed for more dental expenses? Then you can take out supplementary insurance with your health insurer. Which treatments and how much you will be reimbursed varies by insurer.
Note!
Want to know exactly how much you will be reimbursed for dental care? It is best to ask your own health insurance company. Because it matters a lot what kind of health insurance you have and what you are reimbursed in it.
